eight {maryland child and family photographer}
June 3rd, 2012 | Children, Maryland child photographer, Maryland family photographer, mine
My son Noah just turned eight this past week. Instead of micromanaging choosing the location, props and styling like I usually do, I let Noah pick the place and the theme.
He is really into soccer this year so that was his choice! Fortunately, we have a gorgeous soccer field nearby with rolling hills in the background.
The evening we shot these we had a beautiful blue sky that turned into a stunning sunset -heaven!
Happy eighth birthday to my sweet Noah! You are very, very loved!

Your son is absolutely gorgeous!! Happy Birthday Noah!
( Jun 5th, 2012 8:48 pm)Love it! He is so gorgeous! And the sky is so beautiful in these!

I love this field so much – it bloomed early this year after our mild winter. I always try to get a few pictures of noah & emme there each year. Some years they are more cooperative than others

WOW where is this field?! and is it possible still bloomed like that?
( May 21st, 2012 4:57 pm)Wow. I also wish we had field like that nearby. Lovin’ absolutely everything about these images!!
( Apr 2nd, 2012 2:29 pm)Honestly Andrea, Noah should play the prince in a Disney movie! Such adorable kiddos and that field is amazing! Wish we had one around here. Great work, as always!

Maryland is so beautiful this time of year. The cherry blossoms are in full bloom for about a week and they are just so, so gorgeous.
Emme and I had a little photo session amongst the trees, wearing her new sparkly pink shoes from Joyfolie. Her pink bow headband is from The Belle and the Beau

Stunning!! You must have a big house to display all these gorgeous images on your walls!!
GORGEOUS! Love them ALL!
( Mar 28th, 2012 5:52 pm)so awesome, Andrea!!!

March 19th, 2012 | mine
Soooooo . . . I am almost a week late on this project but better late then never, no?
This month I have been experimenting with cinemagraphs. Cinemagraphs are basically moving photographs. I think they are fun and interesting to look at and so for this month’s self -portrait I created a cinemagraph of me and my best girl
She was wary of another “boring photo session” but I told her we could get all glammed up and wear lip gloss -suddenly she was down for it
Apparently lip gloss is a great motivator in my house

I am participating in thie project with several other very talented photographers acroos the country so head on over to Racheal Pulver’s blog Rae of Light Photography in Round Rock/Austin, Texas to see what she is up to this month
I totally missed commenting on this post! How cool is that? I will have to try the whole lip gloss technique with my daughter to see if it will motivate her.
( Jul 15th, 2012 1:03 pm)Gorgeous! We’ve found that strawberry “chap-tik” is one of the best bribes for our daughter.
Love the creativity of displaying this as a cinemagraph!
Gorgeous! So very clever. I have to bribe with chocolate for my boys…lip gloss sounds so much better. Kx
( Mar 19th, 2012 6:27 pm)Bed ~ Self Portrait Project February 2012
February 15th, 2012 | mine, Uncategorized
I love my bed. Love it. It’s white, soft, big and smooshy. It smells like down pillows, a little bit of tide, some fabric softener and my kids’ sweaty heads. It’s where I go to relax at the end of the day (and sometimes the middle of the day, but don’t tell anyone
) It’s where noah and emme watch movies with us, all snuggled together, play on my ipad, jump, cuddle in the morning before we start the day . . . It’s where Gus the cat HOGS half of it and leaves little bits of fluffy white fur that make me sneeze . . . he’s lucky he’s cute. I love my bed. So that was the location this month’s self-portrait project. I’m a little shy about these, and I may delete this post pretty soon -eek! But my husband and kids liked them so I guess that’s all that really matters
I used a self-timer and a tripod for most of these and my son took a few as well. Gus did not help, unless you consider swatting at my ankles and walking though the frame to be helpful. He just wanted me to be done so he could get his spot back for his nap

My adorable assistants, one was more helpful than the other. . ..

Gus reclaims his spot and all is right with the world.

Now go and see what photographer Christina Anglum is up to this month!
So beautiful. It’s always nice to remember how it feels on the other side of the lens, and I’m sure you and your family will treasure these forever!

a clean start ~ self-portrait project, january 2012
January 15th, 2012 | mine, Uncategorized
This year, I’m participating in a monthly self-portrait project with 16 other photographers across the country. The project focuses on capturing our relationships with the people in our lives. We all post once a month and my hope is that it will be a creative and fun outlet resulting in some images I will always treasure.
Two years ago, on New Years Day, I did a bubble bath session with my kids. They had so much fun with all the bubbles in our big bathtub I thought that I would join them for my first self-portrait post.

So, that’s us! Bubbles and all! Now, kindly head on over to Christina’s blog , Christina Anglum Photography, Katy Houston TX Photographer, and see what she is up to this month
